I recommend reserving your spot as soon as you have your EDD locked in. As a birth photographer, I’m on standby from 38 weeks until the little one makes their debut, and I only take a maximum of 2 shoots each month. So, the quicker you snag your slot, the better!
For birth photography, I’m on-call 24/7 from week 38, and I’m there with my lens when active labor kicks in (around 5-6 cm dilated) until about 1-2 hours post-delivery to capture that magical golden hour. With the Newborn48 session, you get a 2-hour documentary experience within 48 hours of your baby’s arrival – either at the hospital or in the cozy comfort of home.
Hospital policies can differ, so it’s all about checking in with them and making sure you have the green light. My role is to seamlessly blend in and respect medical staff directives. If they ask me to step aside, I totally understand. Your birthing space, your rules. But then, where there is a will, there is a way. We just need to plan better.
Starting at week 38, I’ll be in touch, keeping tabs on any updates that help me gear up for that exciting moment when your bundle of joy finally makes its entrance.
Babies have their own clock, right? Whether it’s 2 A.M. or any other hour, just keep me posted as soon as you sense labor’s on its way. That way, I can be geared up to join you as active labor kicks in (around 5-6cm dilated) and ensure nothing gets missed.
Ah, the twists and turns of labor – truly a sweet mystery! But I understand it, being a mother of two. Here’s the deal: From the moment active labor kicks in (around 5-6cm dilated) until about 1-2 hours after your little one’s debut, I’ll be right there with you, capturing every magical moment. And don’t worry, even if I step out briefly for a breather, I’m committed to being by your side no matter how long the journey takes.
Being a Documentary Photographer, my heart beats for capturing authenticity – the raw, unfiltered magic of a moment, light and all. While I do have a flash on hand, I’m all about embracing the available light whenever possible. So, while it’s in my bag, it’s not my go-to. You don’t need to worry about this part. I’ll ensure we’re as soft as the moment is.
While it’s highly unlikely, I’ve got your back covered. If, for some unforeseeable reason, I can’t make it, I’ve got an equally talented backup photographer on standby. But you know, just in the worst case like an overnight delivery that no one expected, and if I can’t arrange a backup, no worries – you’ll get a full refund of your booking amount. And, if the stars align and I can’t make it due to factors outside my control (like super speedy labor or not being informed in time), unfortunately, I won’t be able to refund the amount. But, the silver lining is you can still use that same amount to book another fantastic package with me!
Your eagerly awaited photo collection will be in your hands within a month from the day we caught those precious moments on camera.
Nothing like a set of pictures that you can touch and feel. We can definitely discuss your idea of printed pictures/albums. We an discuss this during our conversations.
